The CO2 fire extinguishing system uses carbon dioxide gas as the extinguishing agent. For fire extinguishing application, carbon dioxide has a number of desirable properties. It is non-corrosive, non damaging and leaves no residue to clean up after the fire. It provides it own pressure for discharge through pipes and nozzles.

The system consists essentially of CO2 cylinders, main P.O.D. valve(s), manifold, CO2 nozzles in compartment protected and pipe lines connecting these main parts.
